Drive Power Shutting Off
« on: June 20, 2018, 10:17:58 pm »
Hello! I have a problem with my drive system. I have 2 30000 rpm dc brushed motors attached to 38:1 BaneBots gearboxes. These are run by 2 DMC 60 controllers from Diligent, and powered by 1 14.8v Lithium Ion battery pack. When acceleration too quickly the power shuts off, and I cannot figure out why. When I attach the motors directly to the battery, it starts to move but stops (I am using XT60 connectors), but when I attach the motor to the battery using alligator cables it works flawlessly. Of course it moves slower with the alligator cables. I have also noticed that the brushed motors spark when switching directions. I am not the most familiar with motors, but I do believe that sparking should not occur. If you have any suggestions on how to fix this then please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin Colgan
