Title: Autonomous Weight Bonus?
Post by: Travis7s on March 28, 2015, 12:23:22 am
So we used to have a 50% weight bonus for this but nobody ever used it. Of course now that the bonus is gone I want to build an auto ant!

What are the odds it can be reinstated?

Here is a shot of the electronics out of a robo-vacuum that I want to use.

It has 3 IR sensors for pushout detection, although I'm not sure how well they would work on the all black floor. It has a bump sensor (opto switch) for detecting walls. The stock drive motors are 370 sized so it should easily be able to run Sparks. It also drives 1x 370 motor for the vacuum and 2x 320 motors for the brushes so i could use those for a brushed spinner weapon.

Use a regular RC on/off switch to turn it on, and either arduino or a 555 timer in monostable driving a FET to do the timeout function.

I'd be okay with reinstating the weight bonus. What are other people's thoughts?
